Born and raised in the city of bridges, Terry Mattson has spent most of his life writing and recording music. Music has always provided an emotional outlet for Terry, but recently he has turned some of his focus away from music and on to painting. Though painting was a new outlet for Terry, it was certainly not a new passion as he has always had an interest in the visual arts and the individuals who create such beautiful pieces. This interest prompted Terry to study art at the University of Saskatchewan, but he has since left the University to study art on his own. The work of Terry Mattson is inspired by the warmth and natural beauty of Saskatchewan’s wide open surroundings, blending surreal notions with abstract imagery.
